the triple root
concept:
1.
2.
Incident of the language: PSYCHE in Greek has the meanings of both ‘soul’ and ‘butterfly’.
3.
Poem “The Butterfly’’ written by Pavel Friedman in 1942, in the Terezin ghetto
(see the poem in its English translation, and the history of the poem)
‘’… I never saw another butterfly…’’
Need to transubstantiate our grieving over all unjust violent losses of human lives into substance of creativity.
The title ‘Another Butterfly’ comes to us from that very poem by Pavel Friedman, from the line
“… I never saw another butterfly…”
Now, why does this flying – above – creature have these wings doubly colored?
Because of the double story offered to us by one of the triple-rooter, PSYCHE:
> 80 years ago, one, Yellow, Butterfly flew up to young Pavel to give him a “farewell kiss’’.
And to disappear. Forever.
> More than half a century after that, another, Blue, Butterfly flew up to another young boy, M.A., in the Munich Botanical Garden, to give him a greeting on entering his life.
And to land on his shoulder.
Experiencing the world, we live in now, we are eager to strengthen this net of connectivity which keeps Humanity together as a whole oneness.
Activating Arts-making:
Images of butterflies we create today – in all shapes and forms, in all media and techniques – our Another Butterflies we NOW see-envision – are carrying our love to all innocent souls unjustly torn away from human life… Pavel Friedman amongst them.
> First Another Butterfly - for the multimedia Project “Another Butterfly” which now is presenting this Another Butterfly website – was created in 2009 by Sanya Slivinsky, great-great-granddaughter of Moshe-ben-Yehude lost in Shoah.
> And many, many Another Butterflies, by many, many creators, of all kinds of making – by makers coming from all walks of life – are welcomed here on this Another Butterfly website.
